Tuition, Room and Board Covered!
American Association State Universities and SSU

Salem State students are encouraged to apply for two scholarships to study in China sponsored by Salem State’s participation in the China Education Association for International Exchange and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.

Tuition, room, and board will be covered by Chinese government scholarships to promote cultural exchange and experience.  Students will cover airfare to China and the cost of a Chinese visa.  This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students.

1.     2018 China-US Winter Rising Study Tour, January 7 – 20, 2018.   Application deadline October 27, 2017.   This is a tour of three cities in China:  Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chendgu with other university students from China and the U.S., learning about and discussing the art and culture of China.   You can review the application at: www.aascu.org/academicaffairs/InternationalPrograms/ChinaInitiatives/RisingStar/

 2.      Undergraduate Study in China September 2018 - February 2019  and/or March 2019 - July 2019 (the Chinese semesters).  Deadline to apply March 2018.

Scholarship valued at $10,000 and covers room, board, tuition, health insurance, a travel allowance, and a stipend.  Students cover airfare and visa fees.  Semester credits will be transferred to SSU.  Classes can be taken in English with Chinese language classes also offered.

Students can choose to study at one of the AASCU approved universities:  http://www.aascu.org/programs/internationaleducation/chinascholarship/2017UniversityList.pdf
